Money usually equals corruption

By Norman

It seems that no matter where you look there are people who are chastising casinos. There are so many folks who think that they mean nothing but trouble. This may or may not be true but there are some bigger truths that are much more important. Gambling has long been associated with crime and corruption but that does not mean that these facilities cannot or do not operate in a respectful manner.

When looking at whether or not casinos bring corruption you must also look at the fact that anything that involves money also brings corruption. How many scandals have we heard of involving banks? Then there is the question of the housing crisis that never should have been allowed to happen. Street crime is everywhere and no matter what we always hear about people being killed on the news. The most corruption that comes to the mind of most people when it comes to money is corruption within the people’s own governments. In fact, that is where the biggest corruption lies; with the very people who regulate everything.

The truth is that casinos bring in tax dollars. They also can make people rich with life changing jackpot amounts. Much the same way as state lotteries do. For people to claim that casinos are to blame for crime, they are not really looking at the world with the right eyes and only seeing what they want to. There was a time in history when a simple game of pool was considered the evil of all evils. Now, it is as common as bread and butter.

Yes, there needs to be regulation and yes those corrupt people operating them should be punished. It is the same with any type of business. If they operate illegally then they should pay the piper. The online casino world has been under a tremendous amount of scrutiny and this has been a good thing. There have been some that have existed solely to rip people off. Some have gotten away with it and others have not.

The bottom line comes down to personal responsibility and personal responsibility alone. We are not to babysit each other. Help each other yes, but there is a fine line between helping each other and trying to control one another. It is good that gambling facilities are closely monitored both online and offline but again, there is a fine line. When the powers that be make sure that none of these lines are being crossed then everyone is happy.

So many online casinos have ripped people off but it is more that people do not understand how the games work than actual stealing going on.

people who don’t like gambling think they just need to control everything and get involved in everyone’s business.

Regulating gambling is so important but who is regulating the state lotteries that take people’s money every single day?

…casinos don’t bring corrupt people, corrupt people go to the casinos either online or offline all on their own.
